Step by Step
What happens when you call?
- We listen. You call (480) 674-5400 or email info@shsscottsdale.com and tell us what's going on: your loved one's situation, your concerns, and the kind of help you think you might need.
- We answer your questions. How Caregiver matching works, how scheduling flexes from a few hours a week to overnight support, and which programs may help eligible families, from Medicare GUIDE dementia respite to VA benefits for Veterans.
- We schedule your free care visit. If it feels right, we pick a time to come meet your loved one at home. Nothing is signed at the visit, and nothing is owed.
The Free Care Visit
What happens during the visit?
We come to the home and meet your loved one where they're most comfortable. Together we walk through a typical day: routines, meals, mobility, safety around the house, and the moments where a little help would go the furthest.
We talk personality too, because the right match matters as much as the right schedule. You end the visit with a clear, honest recommendation, even if the honest answer is that you don't need us yet. Then the decision is yours, on your timeline.
What should you have ready?
- A rough picture of a typical day (routines, meals, sleep)
- A list of current medications, so visits can include reminders (Caregivers provide medication reminders, nothing more)
- Any mobility or safety concerns, from stairs to recent falls
- The days and times help would be most welcome
- Whether your loved one is a Veteran or on Traditional Medicare, since VA benefits and Medicare GUIDE respite may help eligible families
- Your questions, big or small
Missing half of this? Don't worry. We'll figure it out together.

FAQ
Questions families ask before reaching out
What does the free in-home care visit cost?
Nothing. The care visit is free, and there is no obligation to start services afterward. It is how Seniors Helping Seniors® Scottsdale gets to know your family, and how you decide, on your own time, whether we are the right fit.
How quickly will you respond?
Emails get a reply in under 4 hours. Andy and his staff answer the phone Mon-Fri, 8 AM to 6 PM, and 24/7 for emergencies. If care needs to start quickly after a hospital stay or a change in health, tell us and we can move quickly.
Do we have to decide anything at the visit?
No. We leave you with a clear recommendation and honest answers, then the decision belongs to your family. Take the time you need, talk it over together, and call us back when you are ready.
Who comes to the home visit?
Someone from our local Scottsdale office: Andy or a member of his staff. You will not be handed to a national call center, and the person who visits is the person who helps match your loved one with the right Caregiver.
